Brian started his optical career at Jacksons Opticians in Manchester. After 2 years at Jacksons he moved to Hepworth and Hall in August 1978 working mainly at the Atherton practice. Brian took over ownership of four Hepworth and Hall practices in 2005.

He is involved in the Local Optical Committee, cricket and organising beer festivals including the Bent and Bong Beer Bash in Atherton which has raised over £750,000 for charity.

Carolyn worked at the Barnes Hazel practice (formerly G W Scott) from leaving school! After 8 years she left to start her family.

She went back to full time work in 1986 and worked in livestock management for 13 years. In 2000 she returned to Optics and started working back at the Barnes hazel branch. Barnes Hazel has seen a change of ownership 4 times and Carolyn is please to have seen each one!

She is now the Practice Manager which involves the day to day running of the very busy practice, dispensing the perfect pair of glasses for every patient and she also teaches patients how to insert and remove contact lenses.

Jackie started working at Hepworth and Hall in 1995 as an optical advisor. She has over 20 years of experience working in optics, specialising in customer service and helping patients with frame styling. Jackie prides herself on offering the best professional care for all patients and is enjoying working in a well-established local practice.

Outside of work Jackie likes spending time with family and friends.

David started working at Hepworth and Hall in 2007 as a trainee Dispensing Optician and in 2010 completed his Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing at Bradford College. David is now a fully qualified Dispensing Optician with over 10 years experience working in practice.

In his current role as Sales Director, he liaises with suppliers enabling us to offer our customers great value for money without compromising on quality.

David enjoys playing golf and is an active member at Deanwood Golf Club. He also loves to get involved with the local community sports teams.

Adrian started his career in Optics for Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 1993. He qualified as a Dispensing Optician before also completing his Contact Lens Certificate some years later. Adrian is the General Manager for Hepworth and Hall and undertakes the day to day running of the practices, whilst dispensing quality spectacles. He also hosts specialist clinics for contact lenses, dry eye and has recently obtained his certification in colorimetry.

Outside of work Adrian enjoys supporting the town’s football and rugby teams and gets down to the stadium whenever he can.

Rachel began working in optics over 3 years ago, after completing 17 years in the NHS as a medical secretary. She is enjoying meeting the people of Hindley and helping them along their optical journey.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her favourite rugby team, Swinton Lions as well as watching her son play football for Hindley Juniors. She is also an independent Bodyshop at Home Consultant which keeps her very busy!!

Qasim graduated from the University of Manchester in 2013 with a Bsc(Hons) In Optometry, including training at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Penrith Hospital. He is accredited for multiple specialisations including all Pre and Post Cataract Surgery assessments, CUES and MECS. Qasim also specialises in testing patients with dementia and will shortly be a registered Dementia friend with the Alzheimer’s Society.

Racheal completed her master's in science of Optometry at Manchester University. She currently works at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and works for Alan Bowen Optometrist as a Locum Optician.

Outside of work, Rachael is a keen runner and also enjoys baking.

Ryan graduated from the University of Bradford in 2019 where he excelled within his cohort, achieving the highest grades and winning awards for his written assignments. Following graduation, Ryan went on to work in a large multiple chain of opticians in Liverpool and decided to make the change to independent practices in August 2023, where he enjoys being able to offer a more relaxed and personal service.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys visiting the Lake District and also socialising in his local area of Standish, where he was born and bred.
